Years ago we had a prospect reach out to us to repair his roof. Let’s call him “Ted.”.
Ted owned a local business with a metal roof building and was experiencing leaks so he searched for local commercial roofing companies to gather bids.
Though they did not specialize in roof coatings, they presented him a bid that was approximately 60% less than ours.
Ted liked our company and it wasn’t personal, however, he made a business decision to go with the MUCH CHEAPER bid because in his mind- our offerings were similar.
Fast forward to 2 weeks later and we get a call from Ted.
He was still experiencing leaks after this company completed the work.
He realized that the company he hired was inexperienced in roof coatings because there was a lot of oversight in their application and they used a lower quality product simply to win the bid (and not necessarily solve his problem).
Ted ended up hiring us to redo their roof which cost him more than the first time because we also had to remove the subpar roof coatings that were on there.
While names were changed and left out, everything else about this story is true.
If you’re looking for someone to stop leaks on your roof, make sure to do your due diligence by asking a potential company:
- How many roofs have you coated?
- What types of roofs have you worked on?
- Do you offer a warranty for both labor and material?
Additionally, we encourage you check independent sources such as Google and other third-party review platforms.
