Armour Roof Co. has a serious process for what our in-house crews need to do in order to get a roof ready for coating. It’s through years of experience that we have been able to ensure that each new roof has properly adhered coatings to stop leaks and protect your building for years.
Safety and Setup Come First
One of the first things we focus on is safety. When we arrive on site one of the first things we do is setup our entry point to the foot by securing the bottom of our ladder with a sand bag and tying the top secure to the roof.
We unpack our trailer with pressure washer and hoses to start the cleanup of your roof. Our team pressure washes the entire roof surface from top to bottom and we remove any debris that could affect the roof coating.
Once the pressure washing is done, we start to dry out the washer and use our back pack blowers to dry off any remaining areas of ponding water.
Fix and Prepare Any Openings
In a typical commercial roof there are a lot of areas for water to enter through. This includes the seams of a metal roof, flashing around HVAC units, Vents, Pipes, and much more. Our team is diligent about manually sealing off these areas before we do the bulk of the work.
It’s a tedious task but necessary to ensure we’re preventing any opportunity for water to enter in.
Roof Coating Preparation
At each job site there is a foreman who oversees the installation of your roof coating. While our team of coating applicators is preparing the roof, the foreman is readying the products by mixing the roof coatings with the right combination of products to apply to your roof.
Once the team is able to spray the foreman’s job is to ensure the correct thickness of the roof coating application. Spots throughout your roof are measured at random to ensure evenness of the application and overall thorough coverage.
This process is repeated until every inch of your roof is coating with the designated material.
Quality Assurance
Perhaps one of the most important aspects of a roof coating installation is the quality assurance done once the job is complete.
We set up our drones overhead to take aerial photos of your roof to ensure complete coverage. Any outstanding issues are addressed at this point before we sign off on a job and our Head of Production personally inspects each roof.
During this time we make ourselves available for any client questions or concerns and we try our best to keep you informed as we go along.
